In 2018 there were 4.7 million disabled American veterans, most of whom did not come home to a Hero’s welcome. When duty called, these brave men and women put life and limb on the line to protect the people, serve their country, and maintain our freedom. Many fought to integrate back into society while dealing with a disability.
The Veterans Administration helps many of these vets, but they cannot provide all of the services which may be needed. Those without limbs are normally fitted with prosthetics. Those blinded in the conflicts are sometimes trained by the VA to use a walking cane or secure a support animal.
These are proud people who deserve the respect of all Americans. We value their service to our country. Many Vets were naïve young men and women who answered the call of duty when they weren’t even asked. It is time to give back to those who became disabled serving our country.
These proud men and women went into combat healthy and came back with life-altering injuries including missing limbs, blindness, and disfigurement. That is the price they paid for our freedom. They have never “demanded” anything in return for putting their lives on the line for all of us, but now it is our time to put our recognition and assistance on the line to aid them with their struggles.
Although there are some organizations that make it a priority to help those who need it, there are still some needs going unmet. Help with daily living comforts, which we all take for granted, are still going unmet.
Strategic Business Institute’s Veterans Program is currently raising funds to provide at least 100 Vets with Robotic Equipment to help make it easier for these disabled Veterans to tackle the unending job of keeping their homes clean.
Anyone who knows a disabled veteran knows how difficult keeping a clean home can be, especially if they are disabled and living alone.
By simply attaching a cleaning pad (dusting or wet mopping) and pressing the “clean button” on the unit or on their cellphone their cleaning can be done for them like magic. It works on many types of flooring by getting into those hard to reach places. Then simply push another button to dispose of the dirty pad, without having to touch the dirty pad.
This pilot project is only the beginning of our vision to help Veterans by suppling FREE Robotic products and equipment to make their lives easier.
There are many things which we take for granted. Most of us go about our days without health issues. That is not the situation with our veterans. At the very least, when you are out and about or in a public place, please smile and “Thank them for their Service” ; Because if it wasn’t for them we might not be here today enjoying all of the creature comforts we have grown so used to enjoying. They will appreciate the gesture and it may make their day as well.
Please support our Veterans Program and make you Tax Deductible Contribution to the Strategic Business Institute, Veterans Program so we can thank more of our Veterans for their service. (By Veronica Bright
